Personal: Global Village 2016

Hey peeps, went to Global Village this year and it had a new look! For those who don't know yet, Global Village is a cultural, entertainment, family and shopping outdoor destination in Dubai which only opens 4-5 months during the cold season. It was around 19°C when we went thus what we were wearing was just the right amount of knitted wear although I removed my scarf and beanie when we started walking around because it got crowded in some places.

The entrance was called the "Gate of the World" it looked better when it was darker because you could see it with the lights. I just read it is by far the largest gate in Global Village history, it has like 40 turnstile entrances and 40 ticketing counters. As I remember, they just had like a number of small gates around the park. Anyway! Once you enter this magnificent structure, you get welcomed with monumental structures from all over the world like the Tower of Pisa, Big Ben, Chinese Temple, entrance of an Egyptian temple, the Colosseum, and last but not the least, Burj Khalifa. YES! All of that behind that thing (see picture below, the first one)!

So, what are the things you can do in Global Village? Literally, you need a whole day to do everything or keep going back just to experience it all. Basically all you have to do in Global Village is eat everything you see. Sorry, but yes! All the different countries featured in the park will be serving their food. You don't have to shop or go play at the theme park, just eat! Anyway, just kidding I didn't even eat everything. I only ate the things I know, duh. Was there anything new I ate? Meh, don't think so. I got those shoes that have lights though.

Fitness: #InflexibleYogis July Photo Challenge

Instead of keeping this as something that should just stay in the first half of July 2015, I decided to blog about this photo challenge I took on Instagram by @inflexibleyogis Yoga For The Non Flexible (managed by @deandreyoga). Other hosts aside from the two were Instagram yogis like @lolathlete, @shadesofjoy.co, @kestyoga, and @kellymarie_yoga. The challenge were sponsored by @dharmayogawheel, @prana and @spiritualgangster. Check them all out and be inspired to start or continue yoga!

I used to be a regular in my gym's yoga classes few years back which made me think 'why the hell should I not do this challenge.' As a very uninspiring lazy person I will still continue and write about this. You won't even believe how many things I have done in terms of exercising just to stay "fit." but enough about the past let's talk about what happened this July! This is actually my first successful photo challenge since it became a thing! (On my first photo challenge my phone got stolen so never did one again until this year.)

Event: #CosmoFabFemale Awards

My sister was invited for the Cosmopolitan ME Fabulous Female Awards (June 9, 2015) as one of the bloggers and I was her plus one! Click here to view her blog! The event was held in The Act at Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. It had such an interesting theme although I'm not aware of what it is on ordinary nights. Anyway, I didn't take proper pictures or anything. I was just Snapchat-ing everything I found interesting. Who blogs their Snaps? Me. (This is not all of it, I rather now upload some because it features other people...)

Free cocktails upon entering the venue and lots of models (spraying us Juicy Couture scents! I want to show you guys their showcase which was placed outside the lifts but nah)... My self-esteem was at its lowest throughout the event basically.

The drink stubs got us wine! You can choose from red wine and white wine. It would've been better if they still served food when we got our wine. I loved the cheese in dumpling wrapper with some spicy dip and the meat with cheese on top (well, because those were the only things I tried... They also served sushi and some vegetable salad). I don't know what any of them were called, the servers would just tell us what was in the food. I eat anything so...

The first round of announcements but no acts yet. I took videos of the performances but I decided not to post them. The performers were great though. One chick singing was also part of a dance! Very talented. (Applause) Interesting that a man with a man-bun hosted this event. Everyone has the hots for men with man-buns these days so perfect for a women's magazine event.

That's it for my Snaps! Now for other picture (of me) taken with proper phone camera use.

After the event we got a bag of freebies! Thanks Cosmopolitan ME, Gilette Venus, Woojooh, Aldo, Olay, Juicy Couture and others! <3

Last but not the least... My make-up for the event. This picture was taken on the way home and my lipstick came off already but I just put on a nude shade (Cherish by MAC) and dabbed red colour (Rouge Allure Velvet 38 La Fascinante by Chanel) on top so it would have that pinkish glow, my natural lip colour would do to complete the look for the picture because I put so much eyeliner I couldn't go any darker. For my eyes, I used my sister's eyeshadow palette from Sephora (the one with the different shades of brown lol so bad at this...). The liquid eyeliner and eyebrow pencil and highlighter are the ones by Sephora as well. For my mascara (tried falsies but no, that was so hard to put on) I used they're Real by Benefit. Yay!

Personal: My 19th Birthday

It was just a simple night out with the family (on April 28, 2013). I wish my friends from uni were with me to celebrate it though. Missing everyone! Animo Block 7! I celebrated my last two birthdays in Philippines, I really wished that more people were still in Dubai for this year :(

So this little photo op happened in  the car when my mother was catching up with her friend she met in church. Oh Pinoy mothers..

We had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe in Dubai Festival City as requested by the birthday girl, me! I had alcohol on my birthday in Dubai with my parents. Oh my god.

And that's about it! Do I look nineteen now?

New Year's Eve!

My last day in Dubai (Friday) we had lunch at The Cheescake Factory and then went to Global Village. It was also the same day I got my Instax mini 7s from my sister as a Christmas present.

Personal: Termbreak September 2012 (Weekend)

AND IT'S FRIDAY!

My sister had her day off so she bleached my hair again for me. (YAY FREE!) I had two days left and so I did more shopping at Mirdif City Centre. My favourite mall after Dubai Mall. You guys might think malls are so boring but it's not okay! Not for a boring person like me... The highlight of this shopping was the Mac lipstick my sister bought for me and steak.

This is me slightly showing off my MAC shopping bag.

My parents who I'm going to miss again.

My comfort food. WINGS!

Oh carbs, carbs and carbs! I didn't eat all that, okay... Just saying.

LAST DAY, SATURDAY!

What else was there to do but pack! But that wasn't it... We had dinner at IHOP in Mall of the Emirates. I asked Gurjot to join us for this one last dinner before I leave again but the guy couldn't make it so he came over instead after dinner to say bye. It was so useless and nice of him.

This is what I wore. I got the top from H&M for like 10 or 20Dhs so I got it in black and white!

Les syrups.

I just want to thank my parents for letting me visit Dubai every termbreak. And thanks to whoever took time to read all this!
